Described by A. W. Smith. Flowers openly funnel-shaped1 6 cm. across x 4 cm. long, with 5 wavy lobes, fragrant. Orange Red Group 33A ($.H.S. Colour Chart) (Cap-sicum Red) Calyx 0.5 cm., green. Truss 14 cm. across x 8 cm. high, ball-shaped, with 10-12 flowers. Floriferous. Leaves 12 cm x 4 cm. narrowly elliptic, apiculate, cuneate, bullate. Yellow Green Group 147A-B, hairs on both surfaces. Plant upright, branching well, with arching secondary branches, 1.6 m. tall x 1.1 m. wide in 16 years. Blooms in mid-season. Hardy to at least - 15F.
