 VINEMOUNT: (('Hassan' x (R. dichroanthum ssp scyphocalyx x R. kyawii) x 'Catalgla') x 'La Bar's White'. Cross (1966) and raised by Roy Forster at the Horticultural Research Institute of Ontario, Vineland
Station, Ontario, Canada, LOR 2E0. Named, registered, and introduced (1980) at the H.R.I.O. Described by A. W. Smith. Flowers openly funnel-shaped, 7 cm. across x 3.5 cm. long, with 5 wavy lobes, somewhat fragrant, vivid reddish purple 74B (Cyclamen Purple) with pale yellow 161C blotch in dorsal lobe sector. Calyx 2 mm. green. Truss 14 cm. across x 10 cm. high, dome-shaped, with 14 flowers. Leaves held 2 years, 13 cm.x 5 cm. between elliptic and narrowly elliptic, flat, apiculate, cuneate, glabrous, medium green. Plant up-right, yet broad, 1.2 m. tall x 1 m. across in 18 years. Blooms in late May. Hardy to at least - 160F.
